I would support restoring an annual allocation of approximately $700,000 to implement the Active Transportation Master Plan.
Council has already approved the plan, and residents participated in developing it. If we are serious about making walking and cycling safer and creating better connections between neighbourhoods, parks, schools, businesses and other destinations, we need to consistently fund its implementation.
I would prioritize projects based on safety, connectivity and community benefit, and look for opportunities to leverage the City’s investment through grants, development and other available funding sources.
