I would not support a dedicated annual allocation.
Depends on the projects proposed. I support safe walking and cycling infrastructure, but I would not automatically commit taxpayers to a fixed annual amount without reviewing the specific projects, costs and benefits. Active transportation improvements should be prioritized where they address demonstrated safety concerns, improve connectivity and can be coordinated with road, sewer and water reconstruction. With significant demands on Sarnia’s core infrastructure, every capital project should be evaluated on need, affordability and value to taxpayers.
