Working with the County to identify what we can do to build on the good work already being done by different organizations to address the housing issues. Also a more proactive outreach to the community to promote a neighbourhood buy-in in an effort to minimize negative controversy about any project. Funding is always an issue, as is actual management of the facility once it is established. The County is the level of government responsible for housing, but the city is a stakeholder, and should be an active partner, as we have the ljon’s share of housing issues as a city. By the end of the term, a modest goal would to have cut the number of homeless in the city by a minimum of 50%.
