On June 12, we gathered at Maud’s Variety to deck out our bikes with glowing accessories and set off on a dazzling ride through downtown and along the beautiful Sarnia waterfront!
The air was filled with excitement as we cruised pas familiar streets, with our bikes lighting up the night and adding a bit of magic to the town. It was heartwarming to see so many residents cheering us on from their porches, curious about how they could join in on the fun.
The ride wasn’t just about getting from one point to another—it was about bringing people together. Strangers become friends, and familiar faces bonded over a shared love for the outdoors, biking, and simply enjoying our community in a new, creative way. Each ride has been a success, with more people showing up each time, drawn in by the sense of togetherness, excitement, and inclusivity that these glow rides foster. It’s amazing how something as simple as decorating bikes and riding through the streets can break down barriers, create connections, and remind us of the joy of being part of a community.
Because of this overwhelming response, we’re thrilled to announce that after organizing two rides in September and October, we will be hosting them monthly, starting next spring, on the first Friday of each month. These rides have proven to be more than just fun; they are a celebration of our community, giving us a chance to meet new people, strengthen relationships, and feel a deeper sense of belonging in our city.
